# camelRun > A hosted runtime for durable agents. You define tools in your code (TypeScript or Python SDK, or an HTTP server of > yours); the runtime runs the model loop, keeps each agent's history and files, runs model-written code in a sandbox, > and wakes agents when there is work. REST API at https://run.camelai.com/v1 (OpenAPI: https://run.camelai.com/v1/openapi.json). Agents are upserted by a key of yours and run with `agent.run(text)`, which resolves with the run (status, text, inputs, error). Install `@camelai/run` (npm) or `camelai-run` (PyPI), and set CAMELAI_API_KEY. ## Start - [Quickstart](https://run.camelai.com/docs/quickstart.md): a working agent in five minutes, in TypeScript, Python or curl - [Concepts](https://run.camelai.com/docs/concepts.md): durable keyed agents, runs, events, where tools run, processes, people in the loop, idempotency ## Guides - [Tools](https://run.camelai.com/docs/guides/tools.md): writing tools; attached and served tools; identity tokens; MCP, OpenAPI and built-in sources - [Human input](https://run.camelai.com/docs/guides/human-input.md): approvals, questions and forms; answering them and resuming the run - [Showing an agent in a browser](https://run.camelai.com/docs/guides/browser.md): browser tokens and the watcher: showing an agent live in a web page - [Files](https://run.camelai.com/docs/guides/files.md): attachments, what the model sees, files out, volumes, signed links - [Agents for many users](https://run.camelai.com/docs/guides/multi-user.md): an agent per user or conversation, identity, spend limits and keys per customer - [Webhooks](https://run.camelai.com/docs/guides/webhooks.md): run and input events, signatures, delivery - [Models and keys](https://run.camelai.com/docs/guides/models-and-keys.md): the model catalog, your own keys and endpoints, key scopes, model headers, spend limits - [Custom models](https://run.camelai.com/docs/guides/custom-models.md): any server that speaks OpenAI's or Anthropic's APIs as a provider of your own or of a key scope: hosted APIs, gateways, vLLM, Ollama - [Definitions](https://run.camelai.com/docs/guides/definitions.md): reusable configurations, and rolling changes out to their agents - [Channels](https://run.camelai.com/docs/guides/channels.md): Slack, Telegram, Discord, GitHub, email and any service that sends webhooks - [Agents as MCP servers](https://run.camelai.com/docs/guides/mcp-server.md): every agent as an MCP server with one tool, message: connecting Claude or Cursor to an agent - [Production checklist](https://run.camelai.com/docs/production.md): the checklist before shipping ## Reference - [SDKs](https://run.camelai.com/docs/reference/sdk.md): the TypeScript and Python SDKs - [camelRun CLI and MCP server](https://run.camelai.com/docs/reference/cli.md): the camelRun CLI (camelrun) and MCP servers, hosted at /mcp and local: deploying agent.yaml manifests, running and managing agents from a terminal or a coding agent - [Events](https://run.camelai.com/docs/reference/events.md): every event on an agent's stream, and a run's outcome - [Limits](https://run.camelai.com/docs/reference/limits.md): every limit, with its value - [Errors](https://run.camelai.com/docs/reference/errors.md): HTTP errors, run failures and tool errors, and what to do about each ## Optional - [Full documentation](https://run.camelai.com/llms-full.txt): every page above in one file
